The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Rob Jetten, confirmed in a phone call with President Joseph Aoun that his country stands by Lebanon and its people in the difficult circumstances it is going through, expressing the Netherlands’ readiness to provide support to help the Lebanese who were forced to leave their towns and villages. The Dutch Prime Minister also affirmed his country's support for the negotiating initiative announced by President Aoun to stop the escalation and extend the authority of the Lebanese state over its entire territory, indicating the Netherlands' readiness to support the Lebanese army to enable it to carry out its national responsibilities. For his part, President Aoun thanked the Dutch Prime Minister for his positions and presented to him the current situation in Lebanon, stressing the determination of the Lebanese state to implement the decisions taken to preserve its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. He also indicated the desire to strengthen Lebanese-Dutch relations and develop them in various fields.
